Kansas City Chiefs Acknowledge Alleged Abuse Allegations Involving Wide Receiver Rashee Rice

The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment on Wednesday evening confirming they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations circulated in online accounts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver Rashee Rice and had been in contact with the NFL.

The organization did not mention Rice by name in their statement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Allegations Shared on Social Media

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name Rice directly, posted a series of photos on social media that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. Jones stated the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with the football player, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.

Police Reports Reportedly Unavailable

No police reports were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have taken place.

Player's Recent Off-Field Troubles

The receiver missed the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his role in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that left several individuals hurt. He was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to felony charges.

Statistically, Rice concluded the season with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City finished 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a decade.
