Esteemed Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
US actor Pat Finn, who appeared in popular programs like Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has died at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, according to reports.
"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones stated in a announcement.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a social organizer known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on several hit series, including:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.
His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
A Life in Improv
Outside of his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a six-member improv team called "Beer Shark Mice".
"Finn guided, supported, and advised many learners over the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote on social media.
Pat Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
