Clair Obscur Triumphs at the 2025 Gaming Honors
The forty-third annual Golden Joystick Awards unfolded recently, and through an impressive performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the top winner. The breakout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive earned the coveted Top Game award, along with honors for Outstanding Narrative and Best Visual Design.
Adding to the developer's triumph, its talented cast also garnered individual awards. Jennifer English won Top Lead Actor for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Best Supporting Actor for his role as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive the studio was named Top Studio. Altogether, Clair Obscur and its creative team won 7 awards during the event.
Other notable winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which won Top Sound Design and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Outstanding Independent Game and Best PC Game. It is important to note, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the gamers, with only four special—Critics’ Choice, Breakthrough, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamers' Favorite—judged by experts.
