British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities stated on Wednesday evening. The athlete was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

Joshua had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.

Honoring the Deceased

The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two dear friends.”

His release from the hospital comes as the sports world shared sympathy for the star in the following the devastating accident.
