Barça Ready for Historic Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome the Bilbao team in La Liga two and a half years since relocating to allow renovations to start.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside based on approved permits. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barcelona held a public practice inside the stadium earlier this month. The club said they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht next month at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
